A Silverberg story in the tradition of the old classics, with an accompanying novella by up-and-coming writer Alvaro Zinos-Amaro.

This book is part of The Stellar Guild.

Capclave past

Capclave 2012 -- certainly not as large as the most recent Chicon, but interesting panels and workshops, and an enjoyable time overall. A good chance to show people our variety of Phoenix Pick books and generally catch up with the local SF scene. John Scalzi, author guest of honor, blogged about his experience, as did various other people.

The members of the Washington Science Fiction Association (WSFA) are the organizers of Capclave, held annually at about this time of the year. One of the highlights of the convention is the announcement of the winner of the WSFA Small Press Award ... this year it was "The Patrician" by Tansy Rayner Roberts.

In the area convention's initial run as Disclave, guests of honor included such notables as Robert Silverberg (1968), Michael Swanwick (1996), and Joe Haldeman (1977).  John Scalzi is probably one of the more well-known guests at a Capclave, but there's been no lack of other famous names, such as Harry Turtledove (2009), Stanley Schmidt (2002), and Gardner Dozois (2001). And next year:

Follow progress on next year's convention on the Capclave blog.
